Panerai has launched the brand’s first new Luminor Due 38mm with a pastel colored dial. Since Jean-Marc Pontroué took over as CEO in 2018, Panerai has been trying out a lot. From the active introduction of recycled materials such as Eco Titanium™ and E-Steel™ in response to sustainability issues, to the unprecedented strengthening of the women’s lineup, such as Luminor Due Luna, which was launched extensively last year, also drew attention. The pastel-colored dial products newly introduced this year are the result of being aware of the gender-neutral tastes and trends of the MZ generation.
The new Luminor Due 38mm comes in three color dials: Pastel light blue (PAM01309), Pastel green (PAM01311) and Powdery pink (PAM 01319). Each pastel color is applied to the upper plate of the dial with an iconic sandwich structure, and a gradation effect that gets darker as it goes down the dial gives off a more delicate and luxurious impression.
All three versions feature a fully polished steel case with a diameter of 38 mm and a steel bracelet with a link shape inspired by the brand’s patented safety lock crown protector. Although it is the smallest size in the replica Panerai collection, it can be said to be a unisex watch that can be worn by both men and women, considering the trend of other brands and watch cases becoming smaller these days.
The movement is equipped with the same Manufacture automatic caliber P.900 as the existing 38mm products (ex. Luminor Due Tuto-Oro). Despite its single barrel structure, it guarantees a power reserve of about 3 days and has a date display function. Like the previous models with the P.900, the movement is not exposed with a screw-type solid case back. Case water resistance is 50m.
The domestic release price of the new Luminor Due 38mm is set at 10,380,000 won for each of the three versions: Pastel Light Blue (PAM01309), Pastel Green (PAM01311), and Powdery Pink (PAM 01319). As a boutique exclusive product, it is only available in selected Panerai-directly managed boutiques worldwide, and although it is not a numbered limited edition, it is produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces per year for each dial.
