Audemars Piguet recently added another new black ceramic to the Royal Oak collection. The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked is crafted from black ceramic, from the case to the bracelet.
This isn’t the first time a full ceramic royal oak perpetual calendar model has been launched. In addition to the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Black Ceramic Model (Ref. 26579CE.OO.1225CE.01) introduced in 2017, this year, the White Ceramic Model (Ref. 26579CB.OO.1225CB.01) was launched. However, this is the first time that a full ceramic royal oak perpetual calendar model with an openwork design has been released.
The difference in specifications of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openwork is not significant except for the case and bracelet materials from the existing Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar. However, the high complication movement is proudly displayed on the dial face, by the use of transparent sapphire crystal material trimmed in pink gold to the sub-dial displaying each calendar function, which is completely openworked as if there was no dial.
It is said that the actual production time of the black ceramic case and bracelet, which is finished by hand after machining with a CNC machine, is longer than that of ordinary gold material (for reference, it takes more than 30 hours to finish and assemble the ceramic bracelet). However, the finished case and bracelet have the unique advantages of a lightweight, human-friendly and scratch-resistant ceramic material. The case diameter is 41mm and the thickness is 9.9mm, so it is still very slim compared to its features. Like the existing perpetual calendar models, the waterproof specification supports about 20m.
The movement is equipped with an in-house automatic caliber 5135. It is almost the same as the 5134 with the modified ultra-thin automatic base (2120) mounted on the existing Gold Royal Oak perpetual calendar model, but with some modifications to the design of the plates and bridges by opening the dial face to expose the movement. It is made up of 374 parts and 38 jewels in a compact and slim movement with a diameter of 29 mm, vibrates 19,800 per hour (2.75 Hz) and has a power reserve of about 40 hours. As it is a perpetual calendar movement, it automatically recognizes every month and leap year, so as long as the fake watches operates normally, there is no need to adjust it until 2,100. In theory, it is a highly precise astronomical moon phase that requires adjustment only at intervals of 122 years and 108 days. also built in.
The Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openwork Black Ceramic New Model (Ref. 26585CE.OO.1225CE.01), like other ceramic versions, is only available in selected replica Audemars Piguet boutiques worldwide, and its official retail price is 130,000 Swiss Swiss local standards. It is denominated in francs (CHF).
